Professional Bio:

Leslie Rowe has enjoyed writing since she could hold a crayon. Today, she writes professional, creative resumes, website content, advertising copy, marketing collateral, articles, sales sheets, professional bios, press releases, business letters, PSA video scripts, and anything else that needs written. Since 2003, Leslie has been offering her freelance business writing services at GreatWords.net in Sarasota, Florida.

At Greatwords.net, her recurring client list includes the Adult Career and Technical Education Department of the Manatee County School District, Southeastern Guide Dogs, and Webtivity Designs, as well as many small businesses and individuals who contract for one-time projects.

Leslie once wrote the copy for an Addy-award-winning sales brochure for Certegy Card Services, but she’s most thrilled that the Southeastern Guide Dogs downtown Discovery Center displays her writing on poster-sized exhibits telling the story of a guide dog from birth to career. Her longest-distance clients included an entrepreneur on Margarita Island off the coast of Venezuela and a high-tech company in Italy that needed web content written for American clients. Her most unusual client was a professional entertainment provider who trained seals for large amusement park shows.

Her business writing experience was crafted from her employment as a web content writer for Clearaccess Communications, a technical writer for the Orkand Corporation, and an editorial coordinator for Bert Rodgers Schools.

From 1993 – 1997, Leslie operated Resume Express, a resume-writing service in northern Virginia. Her greatest resume challenge wasn’t her white-collar professional clients; rather, she wrote over 50 resumes for welfare recipients in a back-to-work program for the local Department of Social Services. The challenge to professionally portray low-skilled, single mothers struggling to overcome a lifetime of welfare proved to be a fine test of her digging-for-skills, resume-writing method.

She holds a B.S. in Business Administration from Penn State University.
